Below are the events that we recommend for this weekend and beyond. Click on an event’s title to visit that event’s official web site.
- California
- Fair Play (Sierra Foothills)
- 2008 Fair Play Wine Festival: June 7 - 8, 12 - 5 p.m.; $35. Fair Play AVA apparently has the highest average elevation of any appellation in California.
- Russian River Valley (Sonoma)
- Russian River Passport 2008: June 7 - 8, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.; $59 in advance. This event includes wineries that are not normally open to the public. Tickets are limited and can sell out.
- San Francisco
- Pinot Days 2008: June 28 - 29; see website for ticket pricing details. This is going to be big… an event dedicated to Pinot Noir from around the world. There will be 400 Pinots to sample at the Grand Festival. We can’t wait.
- Sonoma Valley
- Gun Bun Summer Fun Film Festival Kickoff: June 7, 6:30 p.m. (film starts at dusk); $10 film only, $45 barbecue & film. A beautiful setting to enjoy an outdoor screening of National Lampoon’s “Vacation,” an early summer barbecue, and live music.
- Fair Play (Sierra Foothills)
- Atlanta, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.: Nothing of interest happening this week. Tune in next Wednesday!
