“Don’t Miss” Wine Events (Aug 8-10, 2008)
August 6, 2008 |
Below are the events that we recommend for this weekend and beyond. Click on an event’s title to visit its official web site.
- California
- Monterey
- Carmel Bach Festival: Saturday, July 19 - Saturday, August 9. This event is not wine-related. Still, we think that combining an evening concert with a daytime visit to an area winery could be an ideal itinerary. The festival ends this weekend.
- Monterey
- Georgia
- Snellville (near Atlanta)
- Come and Discover Your Style: Tuesday, August 7, 6 - 8:30 p.m.; $12. An opportunity to pin down your own favorite wine style. Clever idea.
- Snellville (near Atlanta)
- Pennsylvania
- Philadelphia
- The Sommelier Smackdown: Tuesday, September 23, 7:30 - 9:30 p.m.; $54. This is a competition between, on the one hand, one of the top sommeliers in Philly and, on the other, a Vinology wine educator. Event attendees get to taste each food and wine pairing and then vote on the winner.
- Philadelphia
- New York and Washington, D.C.: Nothing of interest happening this week. Tune in next Wednesday!
